A Turkish Airlines aircraft's tyre reported fire during landing at Kathmandu International Airport in Nepal on Monday morning, May 11. According to the information, the incident took place at Tribhuvan International Airport when a flight from Istanbul to Kathmandu was landing.

The smoke was seen in Airbus A330 aircraft, registration TC‑JNP, operating flight TK726, before the landing gear while taxing. The blaze was brought under control and passengers were evacuated via emergency slides, with no injuries reported.

However, flight services were disrupted at the busiest airport in Nepal. According to Nepal’s Civil Aviation Authority Information Officer Gyanendra Bhul, emergency doors were opened to evacuate passengers from the aircraft after the fire broke out during landing.

The Turkish Airlines flight TK726 had arrived in Kathmandu from Istanbul. The incident occurred at around 6.45 am when the plane's wheels caught fire during touchdown on the runway. At the time of the incident, there were 277 passengers on board, including four children and crew members.
