The eyes may start to sting, or feel hot and burning when closed. If you, too, have started experiencing such discomfort due to the summer heat, try the remedies suggested below. They will help reduce your internal body heat and provide relief.
Home Remedies to Reduce Internal Body Heat
1. A traditional remedy for reducing internal body heat involves using a bronze bowl Apply a small amount of ghee to a bronze bowl and rub it against the soles of your feet. If the color of the ghee begins to change and turn dark or blackish, it indicates that the excess heat is being drawn out of your body.
2. Grind some sandalwood paste on the stone slab (Sahana) typically found in a home prayer altar, and apply this paste around your navel. Practice this remedy regularly every night before going to sleep for a few days. Your internal body heat will gradually decrease.
3. Rice Water is another effective Ayurvedic remedy for reducing internal body heat. To prepare this remedy, take a bowl of rice in a container. Then, wash the rice thoroughly two to three times.
Next, pour fresh water into the container and let the rice soak for five to six hours. After this period, strain off the water and drink it. This remedy helps in reducing internal body heat, balancing *Pitta* (bile), and alleviating excessive acidity.
