Holi 2026: How to Make Natural Pink Color From Beetroot For Rang Panchami
The day after Holika Dahan is Rangpanchami festivals are celebrated all over India. The festival brings to mind the colors flying in the air and the faces covered with joy. But in the last few years, this joy has been eclipsed by chemical colors.
Although the cheap and dark colors available in the market are attractive, they use glass powder, lead and hazardous chemicals. This causes serious problems like itching of the skin, rashes, burning of the eyes, and damage to the hair texture. These colors are especially harmful to the delicate skin of children.
Instead of buying natural colors at expensive prices from outside, we can prepare them at home using ingredients from our kitchen. Nature has given us many things like beetroot, turmeric, and neem to make our colors. Out of these, beetroot is the best option for making pink gulal. We can prepare pink gulal from a bowl of beetroot juice. Let's see the ingredients required for this. (Homemade pink color)
Forget about the hassle of shapewear, 5 magic tricks to look taller and slimmer when wearing a saree; you will see a perfect figure
- Beetroot - 1 large
- Cornflour - 2 cups
- Rose water
- Sieve
- Mixer
1. First of all, wash the beetroot and remove its skin. Then grate it or put it in a mixer and extract its thick juice. Do not add a lot of water to it while extracting the juice, as this will not prepare the color properly.
2. Add the cornflour in a large bowl. Add the beetroot extract little by little and mix it with your hands. Keep mixing the extract until it turns pink. If you want a darker color, use more juice and if you want a lighter pink color, keep the amount of juice low.
3. The mixture will be wet or form lumps. For this, spread it thinly on a large plate or paper. Dry the mixture in the shade, if dried in the sun, its natural color may go away.
4. After the mixture is completely dry, grind it in a mixer. This will make the gulal soft. Then sieve it with a sieve. This natural gulal will not cause any harm to the skin.
5. This natural gulal prepared at home is good for our skin. Since it does not contain chemicals, it nourishes the skin instead of harming it. Also, the color comes out quickly. Children often put color in their mouths while playing Holi. Since beetroot is a food item, it is not harmful to the stomach either.
