Summer heat often leads to sweat, which, when mixed with skin bacteria, causes body odor. This odor can persist despite using perfumes and deodorants, sometimes creating a worse scent and leading to self-consciousness. A simple solution lies in modifying your bathing routine with antibacterial and aromatic kitchen ingredients.

These natural additives eliminate odor-causing bacteria and regulate sweat production, keeping you fresh and fragrant all day without expensive sprays. Here's what you can add to your bathwater.

1. Alum (Turti) possesses natural astringent and antibacterial properties. Add half a teaspoon of alum powder to your bathwater, or simply swirl a small lump of alum in the water for a short while. This kills the bacteria responsible for generating body odor and helps reduce excessive sweating.

2. The citric acid present in lemons helps maintain a balanced pH level for the skin. Squeeze the juice of one lemon into your bucket of bathwater. The naturally fresh fragrance of lemon will keep you feeling refreshed and revitalized throughout the day. Additionally, lemon reduces oiliness on the skin and prevents bacterial growth.

3. During the summer, the accumulation of sweat can lead to issues such as prickly heat or skin itching. For your bath, boil neem leaves in water, mix this water into your bathwater, and add the juice extracted from the leaves. Neem is an excellent antiseptic. Not only does this eliminate the pungent odor of sweat, but it also helps clear up skin infections

4. If you desire a natural, floral fragrance, add two teaspoons of rose water or jasmine flowers to your bathwater. This not only imparts a pleasant scent to the body but also keeps the mind feeling refreshed and cheerful.

5. Wear cotton clothing in summer to absorb sweat and allow skin to breathe. Drink plenty of water to flush out toxins that contribute to sweat odor. Limit spicy foods, garlic, and onions, as they can intensify body odor.
