Tuesday and Durgashtami Special Yog: Effective Remedies for Shakti Puja and Protection

This month, 'Monthly Durgashtami' falls on February 24, 2026, Tuesday, which makes this day more special.   Goddess Durga and Hanuman, the remover of troubles, will be especially fruitful for the devotees. According to the Hindu calendar, 'Monthly Durgashtami' is celebrated on the eighth day of the Shukla Paksha of every month. In astrology, Tuesday is considered the cause of bravery and energy, while Ashtami is a symbol of the power of Goddess Durga. Let's know how to celebrate this day.

Importance of Monthly Durgashtami: Ashtami Tithi is dedicated to Goddess Durga. It is believed that worshiping Goddess Durga on this day destroys the negative energy in the house and gives victory over enemies. For those who are facing frequent obstacles in their lives or who feel mentally weak, this Ashtami increases self-confidence.

Tuesday's Durga Ashtami Yoga: Since Durgashtami falls on Tuesday, one can receive the special grace of both Hanuman and Goddess Durga on this day. Mars is the commander of the planets and Durga is the primal power! Therefore, this day is considered very effective for getting rid of debts, land transactions and success in court work.

Special remedies to be done on this day:

  • Offer red flowers to the Goddess: After taking a bath in the morning, offer red jasmine or rose flowers to Goddess Durga. This opens the way for wealth.
  • Durga Chalisa and Hanuman Chalisa: Reciting both these hymns  gives you double protection.
  • Light a Nandadeep: Light a lamp made of pure cow ghee in the northeast corner of the house or in the temple of God and chant the mantra 'Om dum Durgayai Namah' 108 times.
  • Charity: If possible, donate red colored grains (e.g. lentils) or jaggery to the needy .

Beginning of Holashtaka and Durgashtami

The special thing is that 'Holashtaka' is also starting on this day. Although auspicious activities are prohibited during Holashtaka, this time is considered very auspicious for mantra meditation and worship of God. Therefore, the worship of the Goddess done tomorrow will act as a protective shield for you in the coming days.
