Rising temperatures affect the body by increasing internal temperature, which slows down digestion and often reduces appetite. Dietary mistakes can exacerbate these effects, as some foods take longer to digest, leading to gas, acidity, and stomach strain. Therefore, it's important to consider which foods to avoid during this season to maintain good health.

Many people regularly consume fried foods like samosas, kachoris, vadas, and bhajis, which are heavy on the digestive system due to their high oil and fat content. For better health, choose lighter, easily digestible options such as boiled vegetables, fresh fruits, and legumes, which provide energy and improve digestive health.

Excessively Spicy Food: One should avoid consuming overly spicy and hot non-vegetarian dishes, as they can prove troublesome during the summer season. Such foods not only raise the body's internal temperature but also exacerbate issues such as stomach burning sensations, acidity, and other digestive disorders. During this time of year, meals prepared with mild spices—such as cumin, coriander, and turmeric—are considered preferable to those containing hot or heavy spices. Simple, balanced home-cooked meals are generally the most beneficial for digestion.

Dairy Products: Full-cream milk, cheese, and other dairy products tend to be difficult to digest during the summer months. Consuming these items can leave one feeling heavy and lethargic. For some individuals, this may lead to issues such as gas or indigestion. Instead, opting for cold yogurt, buttermilk, or low-fat milk will help keep the body cool.

Junk Food and Processed Food

The trend of consuming junk food and processed food has surged significantly in recent times. Items such as burgers, pizzas, and packaged foods are being consumed on a massive scale. Not only are these foods difficult to digest, but they also contribute to an accumulation of toxins within the body. As a healthier alternative, fresh fruits, salads, and light home-cooked meals would be an excellent choice.
