A shocking case of suicide has came to light from Maharashtra's Beed district, were a 15-year-old boy allegedly died by suicide after his mother refused to let him go out to play with his friend. This tragic incident occurred in Kaij area on January 18, 2026. According to PTI report, a friend of boy was a Class 9 student, visited his home at around 10 am on Sunday, urging him to come out and play.
Deceased boy's mother, advised him to stay indoors due to the rising temperature and suggested he go out after 4 pm. After getting refused to play boy went into his parents' bedroom, locked the door from inside, and allegedly hanged himself from the ceiling fan.
Mother, who was busy doing household work didn't notice, but around 1:30 pm. finding the bedroom door locked, she raised an alarm. Neighbors forced entry and found the boy unresponsive with a broken rope nearby. He was rushed to the Kaij sub-district hospital, then referred to a government hospital in Ambajogai (40 km away) due to his critical condition, but died en route, according to an official.

Following a postmortem, the body was released to his family. Kaij police have registered a case regarding the incident.
