Bhiwandi Water Cut: Supply to Remain Shut for 24 Hours from March 23; Several Areas Affected
The Bhiwandi Nizampur Municipal Corporation has announced a 24-hour water supply shutdown in parts of Bhiwandi in Maharashtra due to scheduled maintenance work ahead of the monsoon.
According to officials, STEM Water Distribution and Infrastructure Company will carry out pre-monsoon maintenance and repair work, which will require a temporary suspension of water supply. The shutdown will begin at 9 am on Monday, March 23, 2026, and continue until 9 am on Tuesday, March 24, affecting several parts of the city.
During this period, water supply will remain completely suspended in multiple areas under the municipal corporation. Localities likely to be affected include Mamta Tank (Bhiwandi–Nashik Road), Chavindra Village, Patel Nagar, Bala Compound, Farid Bagh, Sangampada, Kacheripada, Brahman Ali, Kasar Ali, Bhav Nagar, Kombadpada, Adarsh Park, Ajay Nagar, Gokul Nagar, Indira Nagar, Qufurt Nagar, Central Tigran Road, Banglanagar, and Bangalwada.
Other areas that may experience disruption include Khadak Road, Ajmer Nagar, Shama Nagar, Sainath Society, Anjur Phata, Devji Nagar, Narpoli, Vitthal Nagar, Sonibai Compound, Roshan Bagh, Nizampura, Islam Pura, MHADA Colony, Shastri Nagar, Nehru Nagar, Millat Nagar (1, 2, 3), Kondha, Chandoli, Kolgaon, Kamathghar, Hanuman Nagar, Jai Ambe Society, Ganesh Cinema area, Navjeevan Colony, Samad Nagar, Kaneri, New Kaneri, Gauripada, Ashok Nagar, Koter Gate, Urdu Road, Qureshi Nagar, Bhadwad, and Temghar.
Authorities have urged residents to cooperate with the administration and make necessary arrangements in advance to avoid inconvenience during the shutdown. Citizens have also been advised to store sufficient water and use it sparingly during the affected period.
Municipal officials said that water supply will resume after the maintenance work is completed, although the supply may initially be restored with low pressure for at least a day before returning to normal levels.
