Around the end of July, BMC lakes had only about 34 per cent of the full capacity, which was a worrisome situation. Due to which the daily water supply was also reduced by 20 per cent in August.

All water supplying lakes have 98.18 percent water reserve of the full capacity as of September 11. The catchment areas of the dams have received good rainfall in the month of August.

According to the information provided by the BMC, the cumulative water storage of seven dams- Tulsi, Tansa, Vihar, Bhatsa, Modak Sagar, Upper Vaitarna, and Middle Vaitarna stood 98.18 percent as on Friday.

At Upper Vaitarna, 98.30% of water stock is available, Modak Sagar has 96.87%, Tansa has 99.26%, Middle Vaitarna 96.61%, Bhatsa 98.51%, Vihar 99.95% and Tulsi has 98.94% of useful water level.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had fully cancelled the water cut from August 28.
