Maharashtra continues to report rising covid cases in the state. As many as 56,286 new COVID cases and 376 deaths were reported in Maharashtra in the last 24 hours, the state health department informed on Thursday.

The rise on the number of cases impacted various sectors as the state has imposed mini-lockdown to curb the spread of the disease. The education sector has also been hit hard.

Meanwhile, restrictions imposed in the state have created panic among the students and many have requested for postponement of exams including MPSC candidates.

NCP leader and Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad has requested the Chief Minister to postpone all the examinations.

"On behalf of the students, I demand the Chief Minister to postpone all the examinations taking place this month in view of the rising covid cases," said Jitendra Awhad. He also used the hashtags MPSC and MHU EXAM with his tweet.
