The number of covid cases in Maharashtra is increasing day by day. In cities like Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur, the number of corona cases are increasing rapidly.

While strict restrictions have been imposed in Pune against the backdrop of increasing patient numbers, Mumbaikars are also likely to go under a lockdown. This is because the number of sealed buildings and floors in Mumbai has increased by 23 per cent in the last week due to the corona outbreak. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's, a total of 229 buildings and 2,762 floors in the city have been sealed till March 9.

As on March 2, it has increased by only 23 per cent. On March 2, a total of 185 buildings and 2,237 floors were sealed in Mumbai. If more than five patients are found in a building, the entire building is being sealed by the BMC. If there are less than five patients. Only the floor of the building is sealed.

The city now has a total sealed floors where 4.5 lakh people reside. The sealed buildings are home to 1.4 lakh people.

According to NMC data, most buildings (34 in total) and floors (518 in total) have been sealed in K-West division (Andheri West, Vile Parle West, Juhu). A total of 30 buildings have been sealed in R-South division (Kandivali, Charkop) and 28 buildings in S ward (Bhandup, Vikhroli, Powai).
