A decision on whether to impose more restrictions or lockdown in Pune will be taken today against the backdrop of increasing number of corona cases. The administration will review the number of covid case in the city and accordingly a decision will be be taken. Reports from private laboratories will now be examined by a third party.

The decision was taken in a meeting held in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. At the same time, the administration demanded a strict lockdown in Pune. However, Ajit Pawar has opposed the idea of lockdown.

The number of patients in Pune has been increasing tremendously for the last few days. The city has been reporting more than 6,000 cases per day. Many of these are being tested in private laboratories. Many of these people have no symptoms of corona. Therefore, it will now be investigated whether private laboratories comply with ICMR restrictions. The total number of patient with symptoms was reviewed today.

The administration is demanding a strict lockdown in Pune. Ajit Pawar and IAS officials have also opposed it. This has led to discussions on more stringent restrictions.
