Amid the surge in the covid case in state, Chief Minister Thackeray has called a high-level meeting with officials today at Sahyadri Guest House at 4.30 pm. After this meeting, the Chief Minister will also hold a high level meeting in the evening. After which Chief Minister is likely to make an important announcement regarding Coronavirus situation by interacting with the people.
Uddhav Thackeray had earlier instructed the administration to prepare for the lockdown. In this context, the Chief Minister has now come to a final decision and the discussion is going on whether or not lockdown will be announced today.
The state will not go under lock down again, State Health Minister Rajesh Tope had said that only restrictions would be tightened. But if the cases continue to rise and situation i not brought under control then there is no option but lockdown. He also said that there is nothing bigger than people's lives.
Maharashtra reported 43,183 new COVID-19 cases, 32,641 recoveries, 249 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per the State Health Department on Thursday.
