Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday said that the decision on whether or not the lockdown should be extended in the state will be taken only after April 14 when the lockdown is supposed to end.

The Maharashtra government in a meeting held on Thursday has come to a decision to extend the ongoing lockdown in the state till April 30 to effectively contain the spread of coronavirus, as per sources.

According to the sources all the minister have agreed to the extension of the lockdown. 

The current lockdown is until April 14. Then, it was discussed in the earlier cabinet meeting that the lockdown might be lifted and phase wise relaxation would be provided. 

However, the number of COVID-19 patients have increased in the state in the last four days. The decision to extend the lockdown is likely to be announced on April 14.
