The State has also decided to award degrees based on the formula decided by the universities. Therefore, CM Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray has written to the Hon'ble PM Narendra Modi requesting to instruct national level apex authorities like AICTE, COA, PCI, BCI, NCTE & National Council For Hotel Management & Catering Technology to endorse the decision of the State Government regarding cancellation of final year/ final semester examinations of the Professional courses & issue guidelines to the Universities.

CM Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray had previously also written to the PM Modi requesting intervention to direct the MCI to postpone the MD/MS & DM/MCh examination as the final year resident doctors are playing a crucial role in fighting this pandemic.

Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray has requested PM Narendra Modi’s intervention for the postponement of post graduation examination for medical students enrolled in MD (Doctor of Medicine) and MS (Master of Surgery) courses in the state till December 2020.
