The Maharashtra government on Wednesday night issued fresh  guidelines  in the state due to a huge surge in the cases of coronavirus disease.  The state government has also issued Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the lockdown. Maharashtra has added 62,097 new cases to its tally on Tuesday, Mumbai reported a slight dip, recording 7,214 new cases.

 

 

 

A look at the new lockdown rules 

 

The lockdown will come into effect from 8pm on Thursday.

Private buses can ply with 50% of seating capacity with no standing travellers

Marriage ceremony may be conducted only as a single event in a single hall not extending beyond 2 hours with maximum of total 25 persons attending the same. Any family seen to be flaunting the restraints or not following these in letter and spirit may be fined Rs 50,000.

Attendance in government offices reduces to 15%, except departments engaged in emergency services.

All private offices that were allowed to function as part of the exempted category to have been asked to reduce attendance from 50% to 15%

No travel will be allowed by public or private transport unless it is for essential services, medical reasons or vaccination.
