Maharashtra government plans to set up plasma banks in Dharavi and Malegaon area. The decision has been taken in order to promote plasma therapy in the state.

The state government has achieved 80% to 90% success rate for Plasma Therapy in the state. 

Till early July Dharavi & Malegaon were one of the main hotspots in the states. Where daily average two-digit cases use to get records. But now both these areas have broken the covid chain. Therefore, the authorities feel that people in these two areas have developed the anti-bodies which can be useful to treat other patients with help of Plasma Therapy.

The state government is looking at plasma therapy is one of the effective treatments for COVID19.

"In the battle of COVID 19, Dharavi and Malegaon are our success stories. Continuous efforts of local corporations & residents today we have been able to break the COVID 19 chain in these areas. We are planning to start Plasma Bank in these areas. We are encouraging people to come forward and donate the plasmas to save the lives of other serious COVID19 Positive patients." Said Rajesh Tope health Minister.
