Two weeks after local trains were opened for all, Mumbai reported a jump in the count of fresh Covid-19 cases on Monday. Therefore, BMC will take a decision after reviewing the situation on February 22.

Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar on Tuesday said that it is in the hands of people to avert another COVID-induced lockdown by wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.

60 out of 100 people travelling by trains don't wear masks which has led to the increase in the cases. Against this backdrop, the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation and the administration are on high alert mode. The civic body in a joint drive with Mumbai division of Railway has decided to take against passengers who do not wear masks.
