Mumbai Police on Saturday discontinued the colour-coded sticker system for vehicles amid Covid-19 restrictions.

Mumbai Police took to it's official Twitter account and wrote,"Dear Mumbaikars. The red, yellow, green #EmergencyStickers categorisation is being discontinued. However, thorough checks shall continue & we hope you will stand by us in #TakingOnCorona & avoid all non-essential / non-emergency  movement outside home #StayHomeStaySafe"

Given the growing number of covid cases in Maharashtra, a statewide curfew has been imposed. The system was introduced to limit vehicular traffic on Mumbai roads and to allow vehicles related to essential services with more ease. The coding rule was valid only for Mumbai. The opposition along with many common people had criticized the sticker system. The Mumbai Police had categorized emergency stickers, Check them out below:

  • Red-For medical services vehicles
  • Green-For eatables/food transport vehicles
  • Yellow-For vehicles of essential workers
