Shankar Kurade, a resident of Pimpri-Chinchwad of Pune district, has got himself a mask made of gold worth Rs 2.89 Lakhs. He said,"It's a thin mask with minute holes so that there's no difficulty in breathing."

But will it serve its purpose of staying away from COVID-19. The Pune man said he was not sure. "I'm not sure whether this mask will be effective." The mask costs Rs 2.89 lakhs.

News agency ANI shared multiple pictures of Shankar on Twitter and since then he has gone viral.

Pune has reported around 6,000 Covid-19 positive cases with 274 fatalities.
