Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday interacted with artiste & producers from the entertainment industry, especially Marathi film, theatre & television series via video conference.

He asked the entertainment industry to prepare an action plan on the limited resumption of film shooting and post-production activities by adhering to social distancing norms amidst the coronavirus-induced lockdown. Uddhav Thackeray, however, ruled out the reopening of cinema halls or theatres anytime soon.

He said the State will consider any action plan proposed by them for reviving shooting and post-production activities if it includes physical distancing norms and other precautions.

The State Government will stand firmly with technicians, backstage artistes, workers, folk artistes and tamasha performers in this crisis. The Chief Minister also said that rent concessions for those who have erected sets in the Film City, will be considered.

The CM received a request from The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) on Tuesday. In the letter, FWICE asked Thackeray if the post-production work on films, Television and other mediums which were on the verge of completion, can resume.
