The growing number of coronavirus cases in the Maharashtra has raised concerns. In addition, the Central Committee for Prevention, Control and Treatment of COVID-19  has made a very important observation after its visit to Maharashtra.

The covid caes in the state have started surging since February and the rules to prevent corona spread do not seem to be very effective, the central team said in a letter to the Maharashtra government.

According to the Central team, the night curfew and lockdown do not make much difference in the state. A special team was sent by the Centre to inspect the outbreak of corona in several states, including Maharashtra. The team has prepared a report after its visit and sent it to the Central Government. After this, the Union Ministry of Health has written a letter to the Chief Secretaries of the states informing them about the relevant report.

The central team reviewed the situation of corona in Vidarbha in Maharashtra. Against this backdrop, the central government has made some important suggestions to the state. Suggestions in this regard have been made by the central team like getting immediate information on corona infected homes, pay more attention to the containment zone, emphasis on contact tracing. In addition, corona tests should be carried out quickly in crowded places like bus depots, railway stations and slums and rapid antigen test kits should be used.
