As cyclone Nisarga intensified this morning, it is likely to make landfall on the northern coast of Maharashtra in the afternoon between 1 pm to 4 pm, said Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Director-General.

Maharashtra: National Disaster Response Force team along with Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, evacuated local residents near the seashore in Versova today to safer places, in view of Cyclone Nisarga.

Around 40,000 people have been evacuated to safer places till now from various locations (sea belt areas) of Maharashtra, said Anup Shrivastava, Commandant NDRF (National Disaster Response Force).
