Cyclone Tauktae hit Gujarat after hitting the west coast of Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra. The cyclone battered parts of the state and left behind a trail of destruction along the coast, uprooting electric poles and trees, and damaging several houses and roads in many parts of Gujarat, including Konkan.

Many places have been without power for the last two to three days and hundreds of trees have been uprooted. Against this backdrop, Devendra Fadnavis visited Raigad district and assess the situation in the wake of Cyclone Tauktae. However, the question of whether Devendra Fadnavis was issued an e-pass for the tour was raised by an RTI activist to the Chief Secretary.

Devendra Fadnavis demanded immediate compensation from the state government for the people affected by the cyclone during his visit to Raigad. However, questions have now been raised about his visit. State Opposition Leader Devendra Fadnavis is currently touring the state.

However, Sanjay Kale, an RTI activist from Kopargaon, has complained that corona rules are being violated during his visit.

Devendra Fadnavis had paid a surprise visit to Kopargaon on Sunday. In connection with the visit, Kale has applied to the Chief Secretary of State for Right to Information. In his RTI application Kale has sought information on whether Fadnavis has followed the rules of travel as the government has not allowed travel from one district to other. This is the first time such an objection has been registered against Fadnavis, who is touring the state.

Devendra Fadnavis had visited the Covid Care Center started by former BJP MLA Snehalta Kolhe. Kale has complained that covid rules were violated during his visit. Accordingly, Kale has applied to the Chief Secretary for RTI. Did Fadnavis apply for the e-pass required for travel from one district to other to attend the event in Kopargaon? When more than ten people are not allowed to gather, why so many people were allowed to come together for Fadnavis' event? Kale has asked for details if the police, taluka or district administration has taken action in this regard, along with videos and photographs of the event.
