A six-member high-level committee has been constituted to investigate the death of four COVID-19 patients at Vedanta hospital in Vartak Nagar, Thane. The committee will submit its report by today evening, said Maharashtra Minister Eknath Shinde.

Four COVID-19 patients died at Vedanta hospital in Thane early morning today. An investigation has been initiated to ascertain the cause of their death, said Thane Municipal Corporation. On the orders of the Thane collector, a committee has been formed to investigate the death of four COVID-19 patients at Vedanta hospital, said Thane Municipal Corporation. 

The relatives have alleged that 4 patients died due to lack of oxygen at Vedanta Hospital in Thane, Maharahtra. The hospital administration has however denied the allegations. Relatives of the patients have alleged that they did not get oxygen.

India's healthcare infrastructure is reeling under the pressure of the rapidly rising coronavirus cases. Over the last week, several hospitals across the countries have sent SOS messages and repeatedly flagged acute shortages in oxygen.
