Fire guts Raghuvanshi Mills compound in Mumbai

A fire broke out at a commercial building in Raghuvanshi Mills compound at the Senapati Bapat Marg, Parel on Thursday morning.

Fire tenders rushed to the spot after it was informed about the fire at 9.28 am. There were no reports of any casualties or injury, so far.

By noon, the fire had been upgraded to Level III, sources said. The source of the fire is still unknown, according to the fire brigade. The thick smoke is hampering fire-fighting operations, said fire brigade officials.

Eight fire tenders, 6 jumbo trankers, ambulances and other fire fighting and rescue equipment have been rushed into service. The fire brigade personnel are using thermal sensors to locate the source of the fire and using exhaust blowers for ventilation.
