The work of Mumbai's Dabbawalas has been affected badly due to coronavirus crisis. During the pandemic the dabbawalas suffered huge financial losses. The number of dabbawalas has also come down drastically in the last one year. Amid the crisis, a foreign bank has stepped in to help Mumbai's Dabbawalas by announcing a fund of Rs 15 crore.

HSBC Bank has announced Rs 15 crore assistance for Dabbawalas. This will provide insurance, rations, new bicycles and financial assistance to their families. Most offices are closed during the Covid crisis. This has had a direct impact on Mumbai's Dabbawala business.

Offices and businesses were closed in many places due to pandemic. As a result, Mumbai's Dabbawala faced major financial crisis. The help announced by HSBC Bank will be useful for the Dabbawalas. 

Dabbawalas, who are also known as management guru, had to face the consequences of pandemic due to closure of schools, colleges, offices, shops and malls. As a result, the delivery service of tiffins were affected by 50 per cent. Due to increase in covid cases, the delivery of tiffins were completely halted.
