Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope and the Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) on Wednesday visited quarantine facility at Dharavi transit camp in Mumbai. Dharavi is one the largest slums in Asia which has at least 180 coronavirus positive cases.  

Maharashtra is one of the worst-hit state with maximum number of COVID-19 cases among all other states and UTs. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has constituted two five-member teams for the state.

These teams have been assigned to review the ground situation in Mumbai and Pune and later they will submit a report to the central government.

Maharashtra has reported 5,229 positive COVID-19 cases and 251 deaths so far, as per the state health department.

The state reported 553 new cases and 19 deaths in the last 24 hours.
