Maharashtra, the worst-hit state in the country battling the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, adds more than 2000 infections to its tally every hour, according to data analysis. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, meanwhile, said the Corona had created a war like situation in the country and demanded that the Centre should convene a two-day special session of Parliament to discuss the issue.

Raut took to Twitter and wrote," It's an unprecedented & almost a war like situation. Utmost confusion & tension  everywhere! No beds, no oxygen & no vaccination as well ! It's nothing but TOTAL CHAOS ! A Special session of the Parliament for at least 2 days should be called to discuss the situation!"

He further said," We will participate in this by observing social distancing. In this convention, MPs will be able to raise issues in their respective states, Raut said.

At present, Maharashtra along with a huge COVID-19 surge is struggling with a shortage of medical oxygen and Remdesivir.
