The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)–Shiv Sena alliance has registered a decisive victory in the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) Elections 2026, winning a commanding 92 seats and comfortably crossing the majority mark. According to the final tally, the BJP emerged as the single largest party with 41 seats, while its ally Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) secured 51 seats, strengthening the Mahayuti’s dominance in the civic body.
The Opposition alliance UBT+ managed to win only 12 seats, dealing a major setback to the Uddhav Thackeray-led front. Of these, Shiv Sena (UBT) won 8 seats, while the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) secured 4 seats. The Congress suffered a poor performance, winning just 3 seats, while the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) managed to open its account with 1 seat. The Republican Party of India (RPI) failed to win any seat.
The KDMC encompasses 122 wards in total, and as the tally progresses, political analysts, party workers, and residents continue to track developments closely. This civic poll carries considerable importance for local governance in the region, with the final results expected to shape the administration of Kalyan-Dombivli in the coming term.
