The recovery rate of corona patients in Maharashtra has now reached 93 per cent and the positivity rate has come down to 12 percent, state health minister Rajesh Tope told media today. He was speaking after a review meeting on corona in the state. Rajesh Tope informed about some important decisions taken in the meeting.

Maharashtra government on Tuesday decided to stop home isolation for patients of 18 districts where the positivity rate is high. The patients from these districts will have to go to a quarantine center, won't be allowed home isolation, said state health minister Rajesh Tope.

Although the number of corona patients is declining, the state government is making every effort to bring it under complete control and an important decision regarding corona testing was taken at the meeting, Tope said. Corona tests will be performed only on high risk and low risk individuals who have come in contact with a corona infected person. Rajesh Tope informed that corona testing in some places affects the positivity rate.

Rajesh Tope further said that at present, two important suggestions were given to the districts in the state where the positivity rate is higher than the total positivity rate of the state. The first is to stop home isolation 100 percent and increase the covid centers and isolate the patients there. Additional covid centers will be set up for this. He also said that he would give priority to fire audit of all hospitals in the state.

Home quarantine will now be stopped in the following districts-

Pune, Nagpur, Raigad, Buldhana, Kolhapur, Ratnagiri, Sangli, Yavatmal, Amravati, Sindhudurg, Solapur, Akola, Satara, Washim, Beed, Gadchiroli, Ahmednagar, Osmanabad
