Charkop police in Mumbai has arrested 2 people for hoarding around 10,000 bottles of hand sanitizers for black marketing. Both accused have been arrested under multiple sections of The Essential Commodities Act.Over the past few weeks, there have been cases of non availability of surgical masks and N95 masks due to increase in demand and black marketing. There have also been cases of traders charging exorbitantly for hand sanitisers.`

The government has put masks and hand sanitisers under Essential Commodities Act (ECA) upto June 30, 2020 to ensure proper availability these items in market at correct price in view of the outbreak of Coronavirus.
