The Maharashtra government has again imposed strict restrictions since Monday due to the possibility of a third wave of Corona and the threat of a Delta Plus variant.

Accordingly, the state Disaster Management, Relief and Rehabilitation Department has extended the restrictions imposed under 'Break the Chain' by informing the rules regarding gathering at religious places, private training classes, skill centers, hotels, tourist spots.

From Monday, there will be level three restrictions in 33 districts of the state, including Mumbai city, suburbs and Thane. The state government has issued new guidelines. Accordingly there will be ban on crowding of more than 100 people, in case of construction activity, only onsite labourers will be allowed to work. Others have to leave the site by 4 pm. Social and cultural gathering are allowed with 50 percent capacity on weekdays. Punitive action will be taken if it is observed that the rules are not strictly followed in this place.

Establishments that repeatedly violate the regulations will be completely shut down. Religious places on the third, fourth and fifth levels will be closed to visitors.A maximum of 50 guests will be allowed for weddings, while only 20 people can attend funerals. 

Restaurants will be allowed to operate at 50 percent capacity till 4 pm on weekdays, following which only takeaway and parcel services will be allowed. Tourists will not be allowed to enter without e-pass if the respective tourist destination falls in level five. If the tourists are coming through level five, they will have to stay in isolation for a week. Guests will be allowed to keep hotels of all levels open for admission. On the condition of capacity, the restaurants in the hotel will be maintained for the guests staying at the place.
