The Pune Chamber of Commerce has demanded that shops should be allowed to open subject to a new government order.

On Monday morning Pune Municipal Commissioner Mr. Vikram Kumar and Joint Commissioner Mrs. Rubal Agarwal had a meeting in the context of opening shops in the city of Pune in the office of the Commissioner. The demand was made during the meeting. The Pune District Retailers Association has also demanded that all traders in Pune should be vaccinated as a matter of priority. As mentioned in the new rules of the government, relief will be given to the districts which have less than 10% positivity rate. Shops here will now be allowed to continue till 2 pm.

In the Pune Municipal Corporation, the average number of corona patients in the last one week is less than 10 per cent and 76 per cent oxygen beds are empty in the hospital. Accordingly, the Pune Chamber of Commerce and Industry demanded that shops be allowed to open by relaxing the restrictions.

The Commissioner said that the traders have co-operated well during the last two month and they should continue to cooperate, and said that positive decision will be taken while issuing new orders.

The revised orders will be issued by this evening after which everything will be clear. President of Pune Chamber of Commerce Fatehchand Ranka and Secretary Mahendra Pitlia were present on the occasion. While demanding the opening of shops, the Pune District Retailers Association has also demanded that traders should be vaccinated as a matter of priority. Chairman Sachin Nivangune has given a statement to the Municipal Commissioner in this regard.
