278 more policemen have tested positive for COVID-19 in Maharashtra in the last 48 hours, taking the total number of active coronavirus cases in the state to 1,113 on Wednesday.

According to the police, the total number of cases includes 121 police officers and 992 other ranks.

"278 police personnel found positive for #COVID19 in Maharashtra in the last 48 hours, taking the total number of active cases to 1,113 and death toll to 71 in the force," the police said.

Out of the total, 71 have died due to the infection, it said.
