The schools in Maharashtra are set to reopen from November 23 for classes 9 to 12. The classes 9 to 12 will reopen after Diwali with all COVID-19 safety protocols in place.

Maharashtra government has issued Standard Operating Procedures, SOPs for students and teachers for the conduct of academic classes under Mission Begin Again.

Check out the SOPs regarding COVID-19 that should be followed in schools: 

  • The schools will have to follow health, hygiene and other safety precautions before and after school are over. 
  • Written consent from parents is necessary for children regarding attendance.
  • Sanitization of school premises and health checkups of teachers before the schools are reopened.
  • Students who are ailing or have ailing members at home, should not be sent to schools by their parents in this period. 
  • Teachers attending schools will have to undergo an RT-PCR test to detect Covid-19 from November 17 to 22.
  • Only one student will be seated per bench
  • Classes will be held on alternate days and science, maths and English will be taught while other subjects will be taught online.
