Mumbai: Due to the reduction in the fleet of BEST buses, the vehicles are often crowded with passengers. In the chaos of crowds, passengers tend to forget many items, including mobile phones. In the last three years,  passengers have forgotten 2,327 phones on the bus. Another 79 mobile phones have been added in the last three months of the new year. More than 1,000 passengers have recovered their mobile phones, the BEST said.

Commuters traveling by BEST often forget their mobile phones, valuables, and things on the bus. Therefore, the BEST initiative appeals to people to submit expensive mobile proof that they have forgotten on the journey and recover them.

Bluetooth earphones, keyboards, power banks, laptops, camera stands, keyboards, and calculators are also forgotten by passengers on the BEST journey. These items can also be recovered from the BEST's missing property department in Wadala.

Mobile phones found by BEST in the last 3 months:

How to recover forgotten items?

1) The forgotten mobile phone in the bus is handed over to the carrier by other passengers. The mobile is then deposited with BEST's missing property department in Wadala.

2) One month is given to retrieve the found mobile phone. It is also advertised. If the claim is not made on the mobile within a month, the mobile is given away for scraps. There is also a scrap yard at Oshiwara.

3) To get the missing mobile phone from BEST's office in Wadala, one has have to submit an Aadhaar card or other photo identity card, mobile bill, or copy of it if you have complained of a missing mobile at the police station.
