The coronavirus case count in Mumbai's Dharavi area rose to 3,192 on Thursday with 16 new cases coming to light, a senior Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official said.

After downward Covid-19 trend in the slum areas. for the last few days Dharavi has been reporting double digit cases

Of 3,192 cases, 2,731 patients have recovered and there are 170 active patients, the official said.

The BMC does not share data of fatalities from the area.

Spread over 2.5 sq km, Dharavi has a population of around 6.5 lakh.
