Mumbai city and and its neighbouring areas including Thane witnessed light showers on Monday morning. The showers also brought down temperatures as residents woke up to a cool and cloudy morning.

As cold conditions intensify, smog shrouded parts of the city leading to decreased visibility. KS Hosalikar, Head, Regional Meteorological Center said, "January month in Mumbai has records of the lowest minimum temperatures (Below 15 Deg Celsius). For the next 3, 4 days, as per the IMD GFS guidance, there is the possibility of lowering temperatures in the city. But it won't be severe."
