Given the growing number of covid cases in Maharashtra, a statewide curfew has been imposed. Meanwhile, to limit vehicular traffic on Mumbai roads and to allow vehicles related to essential services with more ease, the Mumbai Police has decided to implement a colour code in the city amid Covid-19 restrictions.
The Police Commissioner appealed to the citizens to implement this process by affixing stickers on private vehicles for essential services.
Moving out for essentials? Know your stickers-
- Red-For medical services vehicles
- Green-For eatables/food transport vehicles
- Yellow-For vehicles of essential workers
Mumbai Police, who is known for their incredible sense of humour and witty posts, took to Twitter today to talk about the importance of staying at home. This was the question a Mumbai resident had for Mumbai Police, even as the city continued to grapple with changing curfew and lockdown rules to curb the spread of the virus.
A prompt Mumbai Police responded with utmost courtesy and empathy. “We understand it’s essential for you sir but unfortunately it doesn’t fall under our essentials or emergency categories!
