At least 36 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Mumbai's Dharavi area on Thursday, taking the total number of cases in the area to 1,675, said the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

According to the BMC, the death toll in the area stands at 61 on Thursday.

On Thursday, Maharashtra continues to remain the worst affected state with 56,948 COVID-19 cases, said the Union Health Ministry.
