At least 38 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Mumbai's Dharavi area on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases in the area to 1,621, said the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

According to the BMC, the death toll in the area stands at 60 on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Maharashtra continues to remain the worst affected state with 52,667 COVID-19 cases, said the Union Health Ministry.
