Nagpur: Major fire broke out at paper processing company located in Uppawadi near Kamthi on Tuesday (February 10, 2026) at around 1:30 am. According to reports the fire gutted the entire machinery and raw materials of the company, causing a loss of around Rs 5 crore. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
According to information received from the fire department, a fire broke out suddenly at around 1:30 am on Tuesday, since the company had a large stock of paper and chemicals, the fire spread instantly. The flames were so fierce that its flames could be seen clearly from a distance.
As soon as the fire was received, the fire department rushed to the spot. Realizing the seriousness of the incident, fire brigades were present at the incident.vAfter nearly 7 hours of struggle and tireless efforts of the personnel, the fire was brought under control. Cooling work was underway at the scene by Tuesday afternoon. The company suffered major losses in this fire. The fire gutted the company's paper rolls, entire machinery, lift fork, lift vehicle, LPG cylinder, chemical drums, Fevicol drums, air conditioners and ceiling fans along with other materials. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Vile Parel Building Fire Kills Elderly Woman
A 63-year-old woman died and another woman was injured after a fire broke out in a residential building in Vile Parle East on Monday, February 9, 2026. The blaze started at about 12.44 p.m. on the 13th floor of the Suvidha Pearl building on Pheroze Shah Mehta Road. The fire brigade deployed five fire engines and two jumbo water tankers to control the blaze. The fire was brought under control at about 1.44 p.m.
According to the reports, the fire began in an electrical wiring duct inside a room and later spread to other parts of the apartment. The deceased was identified as Bhavna Satra, 63. A 34-year-old woman, identified as Aneree, was also in the flat at the time of the incident and suffered injuries. Both women reportedly inhaled heavy smoke, which caused breathing problems. They were taken to Nanavati Hospital, where Satra was declared dead. Aneree is undergoing treatment.
The flat was located on the top floor, which made the operation difficult as the corridor and staircases were filled with smoke. By the time firefighters rescued the women, both were unconscious.
