A fire erupted in a Chinese food stall late at night on Monday, at around 2:30 am. The shop is a part of a cluster of around 50 food stalls situated at State Bank Chowk, Lekha Nagar. The bustling area, known for its vibrant culinary scene.

The news reached the Ambad police station, prompting them to alert the president of the Chowpatty shop and social worker, Rahul Ganore. Ganore raced to the scene to confront the raging flames, risking his own safety to combat the unfolding crisis.

As the situation intensified, a fleet of fire engines rushed to the scene. However, amidst the chaos of firefighting efforts, tragedy struck once again as a gas cylinder within one of the shops exploded with a deafening roar, sending shockwaves through the vicinity.

Dramatic Visuals Emerge:

The force of the explosion reverberated through the area, shattering windows and causing widespread panic. In the ensuing chaos, two cylinders erupted in flames, exacerbating the situation and allowing the fire to spread rapidly.

The toll of the disaster was felt deeply as brave firefighters and dedicated activists found themselves caught in the line of fire.47 years old, Rajesh Hadas, a seasoned fireman, bore the brunt of the explosion, sustaining severe burns covering 70% of his body. Alongside him, social activist Amol Khandare, aged 28, faced a similar fate, enduring burns covering 40 % of his body.

In a poignant display of solidarity and sacrifice, Chowpatty's president and revered social activist, Rahul Ganore, sustained serious injuries while battling the flames, further highlighting the perilous nature of the rescue efforts. The injured were transported to the Life Care Hospital at Lekhanagar, where they received immediate medical attention.
