Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday, March 27, said that lockdown will not be imposed in the country. CM warned of action against those who spread, share, or forward any unverified or fake news on social media related to the lockdown. He assured that there is a full stock of petrol and diesel in India for a month.
While interacting with the media, CM Fadnavis thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian Government for not increasing the prices of oil due to the Middle East war. "The central government has declared that there will be no lockdown. The people who spread such rumours will be subjected to severe punishment. Spreading such fake news on Facebook, X, or any other social media platform, or forwarding such fake posts via WhatsApp, will be considered a crime," said CM Fadnavis.
He said there is a situation of lockdown in our neighbouring countries. Neighbouring countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have shut down offices and institutes due to gas and petrol shortages. At the same time, the Indian government has done excellent management and there is no shortage of fuel.
