Former BJP MLA Paskal Dhanare (resident of Talasari) passed away at Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai on Mondayat around 3 am. He was suffering from Covid-19 and was earlier admitted to Rainbow Hospital in Gujarat's Vapi district. After his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to Mumbai for further treatment. He died at the hospital during treatment.

Dhanare (49) was an MLA from Dahanu in Palghar district of Maharashtra from 2014 to 2019. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.

In this constituency, when the Marxist Communist Party was dominant, the BJP was able to win here for the first time in the Modi wave. He was the Palghar district president of this party.
