Pune: 21 members of family recover from Covid-19 including 6 month-old baby & 80-year-old

Maharashtra on Wednesday reported 57,640 new coronavirus infections, which took the state's case tally to 48,80,542, while 920 fatalities, the highest in a day so far, pushed the death toll to 72,662, the health department said.There are 6,41,596 active cases in Maharashtra as of now. As many as 57,006 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals in a day, which took the count of recoveries to 41,64,098.

The virus has penetrated into small towns and rural areas which has put burden on the administration to control the spread. In one such case, an entire family of twenty-one people from the village of Mandvagan Farata teted COVID-19 positive. Mandavgan Farata village is located in Shirur Tehsil of Pune district in Maharashtra

But the strength, willpower, perseverance, proper exercise, healthy diet, followed by the elders and children of the family helped them to successfully recover from coronavirus. 

Ashok Jagtap, a member of Mandvagan Farata Gram Panchayat, has a family of 21 people that includes elders as well as children. Ashok used to go out of the village to sell fruits from the field. He was in touch with traders, workers, customers.So he contracted the infection. He had quarantined himself when he got home after going out of town. But after a few days, everyone in the house became infected. Twenty-one persons from his family including his mother, father, cousins, brother, brother-in-law, nephew, children etc. were corona infected and handled the situation without fear.

The elders in the house boosted the moral support of the whole family. With strong willpower, perseverance, proper exercise, healthy diet, all became corona free. A six-month-old baby was also in their home was infected with corona. The eldest member in Jagtap family to be infected by the virus was 78-year-old and youngest was six-month-old boy. Also, ten members of the family were treated at the Covid Center, six senior members at Varadavinayak Hospital and five at home.
