Local trains are lifeline of Mumbai city, that lifeline being shut has caused trememdous hardships to general public. Therefore, MNS Chief Raj Thackeray on Thursday wrote to CM Uddhav Thackeray demanding to resume local train services for all Mumbaikars.

"Citizens who have taken both the vaccine doses should be allowed to travel by local train," Raj said in a letter.

Although the coronavirus cases is showing declining trend in the second wave, a third wave is expected. Against this backdrop, care is being taken in Maharashtra. A number of corona restrictions are still in place in the state. State Health Minister Rajesh Tope has said that the state government is ready to remove the restrictions as well as speed up vaccination. He also said that there is a plan under consideration to give exemption to those who have taken two doses of vaccine. After that, MNS president Raj Thackeray has written a letter to the Chief Minister demanding local train services for all Mumbaikars.

In his letter he wrote, "What is the logical reasoning behind the locals closed and the bus service on? The leading experts from all over the world have stated that the covid is not just going to disappear. We will have to start to live with this virus looming large. Keeping this very fact in mind, we will need to take decisions and find solution and make plans accordingly. There is definitely a need to speed up vaccination drive. Simulatneously, we must think of innovative policies. Unfortunately, all we see here is lockdown and restrictions. I appeal to the CM to resume local train service as soon as possible, at least for those who have taken both the vaccine doses."
