On Saturday, MNS chief Raj Thackeray held a press conference and appealed to people that they should take lock down seriously and follow the government advisory else it will reflect on the economy. The discipline should be there, people should stay at home else the lock down period may extend and it may have an adverse impact on the industries leading to unemployment and financial crisis.

On being asked about questions related to Markaz Nizamuddin in Delhi, he said, "these people should be shot who think religion is bigger than the country." 

As the number of coronavirus cases are rising in the country, it has become a cause of concern for the authorities. Maharashtra being the worst hit state, the number of COVID-19 positive cases surged to 490, with 67 new cases being reported across Maharashtra on Friday, and the official death toll rose by six to touch 26 so far.
