On Tuesday evening, PM Modi urged people not to step out of their homes during these trying times. PM Modi has declared a total lockdown for 21 days to combat the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Amid the lockdown Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray has appealed to the citzens,"We have enough stock of essential commodities and food grains, do not worry. In any case, shops selling essential goods & services will not be shut. So, I appeal to you, “please do not panic”.

He also said to practising social distancing while buying vegetables & other essential commodities.The total number of COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra is 116; four more test coronavirus positive.
